CONVICTS ASSIGNED AND TRANSFERRED
It always pays to look beyond the obvious when researching.
These lists are in a simple format and this particular list predominantly gives the ship of 'free' passage as the 'Mary', though there are some others mentioned.
Details generally are surname, forename, ship ..then the number is the number of the voyage (many ships did a number of voyages to Australia), occupation, name of the settler they were sent to and the place/town they lived in.
I have added some very basic information re the convicts from just one of the sites available, Convict Records. If you haven't used it before, be sure to go though all the options, there are even a small number of photos of convicts, perhaps yours is among them. Tasmanian records have quite a number of photos, be sure to note if there are any copyright restrictions whenever you are searching, especially for images.
To build on your story, have you ever looked through TROVE for anything on the settlers the convicts were sent to? You never know what you will find... I would suggest that you look just for the surname of the settler, plus the year, then that area... You may just find that the convicts were accepted not only into the work they initially came for, but, in a number of cases, into the family. Some 'married the boss' or a daughter or son of the settler, some married someone in the same area... it pays to delve further and not just accept what you see in front of you.
