CONVICTS ASSIGNED & TRANSFERRED BETWEEN 1-30TH APRIL 1832 Trove Tuesday 7th September 2021

 



This extensive list gives a few details re the convicts...

Surname, name, ship on which they had been transported to Australia, trade/s, and master/mistress convict assigned to and place. If there is a number after the ship's name, that refers to the voyage.

Many ships made several journeys to and from Australia.

These lists can be of help to trace your ancestors and can help us to learn more about their skills etc. Some convicts stayed in the same area till they were pardoned or given a certificate of freedom ..perhaps even died in the area.  To find more about them, there are a number of sites as well as TROVE to try to trace them. Look in the newspapers of the area, look in sites such as Convict Records,  Claim a Convict, Trial records - Convicts- National Library of Australia to name just a few.

CONVICTS ASSIGNED AND TRANSFERRED JUL 1832 Trove Tuesday 20TH OCT 2020





Convicts assigned and transferred.. July 1832..these entries include the date of arrival, Name, ship, occupation .. person assigned to and place.

They sometimes include multiple abilities of the convicts… e.g. “ploughs, reaps, sows” … “ postillion and spadesman”.

A great benefit when trying to trace your convict ancestor or to simply follow the trail of a name of interest.
