UNCLAIMED MONEY Trove Tuesday 28th Jun 2022

These lists are different in that they are from the Defence Forces Retirement Benefits Fund and refer to Australia wide.. The value to researchers is not in the hope of claiming money owing to families, but rather in the possibility of finding an address that your ancestors were living at.

They have name, address... many even giving the street number... also their service number and the amount owing to them.

This list was published in 1956.. it's reasonable to assume that many had moved or maybe have passed by then. If you find a name that could be of interest, but don't know any details, do search BDMs from the state/territory mentioned. Also, go to the researcher's bible, TROVE and see if there is anything there. Local family history groups for the place mentioned may also be able to help, as might the local councils or libraries. Record Search may help..
