PLEASE HANG GRANDMA... OR PA...

Something that family historians come across regularly are unnamed photos...with no clue as to who they are or to whom they belong. This page is where you can have your stray photos posted in the hope that someone can claim them or at least put a name to them.

The first lost souls are as follows... bought in a second hand shop in Moorooka, Brisbane, Qld..

If you recognise these folk, please refer to Kath/Moorooka... who would be happy to send them home.

Another unknown...do you recognise this lady? Note the black eye. Though this lady is quite young, she may have gone on to become  someone's Grandma..
Please contact the lady at the end of the notice, Vera .. if you think you may recognise her.

Can you help with identifying this lovely lady?
My friend, Ann, sent the following... referring than album she inherited...

The album belonged to my godfather, James Paul Donnelly 1933-2010. Jim's parents were Paul Francis Donnelly 1905-1964 and Kathryn Elizabeth Ryan 1904-1999. I suspect that the photo may be Kathryn's mother, Elizabeth Devine 1871-1934. Elizabeth was born in Yardley, Pennsylvania. She moved to Trenton, New Jersey, on her marriage to Thomas Joseph Ryan in 1903.

Thomas Joseph Ryan came from a family of bridge tenders in Trenton. My guess is that the photo is Elizabeth Devine Ryan.

For reference or family resemblance comparison, this is Kathryn Ryan, daughter of Elizabeth, and my aunt by marriage.

I think there is a very strong chance that the photo above could well be the mother of this lady...she looks to be about 20 years old.. the costume looks to be of the style c1890 -1900.. and the features of the two, shape of the face, albeit at a different angle, and neck, are quite similar. What do you think?
